In 2010, Shinn Estate became the first Long Island winery to hold a farm distilling license.
THE DISTILLATION PROJECT
During the 2010 harvest, Shinn Estate Vineyards acquired a 400-liter copper alembic pot still from Portugal. Shinn is now the first Long Island winery to hold a farm distilling license, and uses it to produce apple brandy, alembic brandy, and eau de vie.
