ABOUT THE WINE
Non-Vintage Red Blend
Our winemaker strives not only to make the best wine but to make it at the best value. This red blend exemplifies a delicious everyday drinking wine that shows bright fruit and acidity with flavors and aromas of red cherries, licorice and spice making this red wine smooth, soft, and elegant.
Featured in the NY Times “20 Wines Under $20: Touring the World” by Eric Asimov
“A nonvintage red? Why not, especially in an inexpensive wine like this one, where the aim is deliciousness and drinkability. It’s spicy, brambly and precise, made mostly of merlot and cabernet franc, as well as trace amounts of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and malbec. From the terrific Rose Hill [formerly Shinn Estate], which changed ownership last summer. With luck, that will be the extent of the changes.”
